Hanover sits just north of Richmond and Henrico. It mixes established suburbs around Mechanicsville and Atlee with the small-town feel of Ashland and wide-open country toward the west and north. Our office in Glen Allen is a short drive away.
Most Hanover addresses fall into a handful of areas, each with a different feel:
Hanover has a strong county parks system and a lot of colonial and Civil War history.
I-95 runs north-south through Ashland and Doswell, I-295 loops through the southern part of the county, and US 301 and Route 360 connect Mechanicsville to Richmond. Many Hanover residents commute to downtown Richmond, Innsbrook or the West End, and Ashland's Amtrak station connects to Washington, D.C. Drive times vary a lot with traffic and where in the county you live.
Hanover has 1970s and 1980s ranches and split-levels, newer subdivisions with HOA amenities, older homes in Ashland's historic streets, and farms and acreage in the west. Well and septic are common outside the suburban core, so we check those details early. We'll help you compare neighborhoods side by side.
If you're buying, we'll set up a search around what matters to you, from school assignments to lot size. If you're selling, we'll pull recent sales near you and give you a straight read on price and timing.
